4 Vision & Mission & Values Vision of the Carpathian Foundation is to be a trustworthy partner for everyone who wishes to creatively contribute to improvements of life in the region of eastern Slovakia. Mission of the Carpathian Foundation is to support development of eastern Slovakia in the name of its traditional values of mutual help and respect for cultural and ethnic diversity. Values of the Carpathian Foundation Transparency, inclusiveness, credibility Respect for cultural and ethnic diversity of eastern Slovakia Support of self - help, partnerships and collaboration of different sectors of the society Raising awareness of the contribution of non – profit organizations for the overall development of the region

5 Programs & Financing Until 2005 Charles Stewart Mott Foundation and other private US and European foundations = 100% foreign private funding After 2005 Business – 31%, EU financial schemes – 16%, Norwegian financial mechanism – 14%, Private persons – 20%, Foreign governmental sources (USA, V4) – 4%,US Private Foundation (Mott) – 15% = diversified funding Programs:  Grant programs for NGOs and LSGs + Scholarships  Operational programs & projects
