8 We speak politely and kindly to others. We look after our school inside and outside. We have kind hands and feet and don’t hurt other children. Do not fight on the playground. Be nice, share and take turns. Listen carefully. Say “please” and “thank you”. Be a good friend. We participate in every lesson. We work neatly and quietly. We try our very best.

13 EP Skills will be used for practising our reading, spelling and comprehension skills. In Grade 3, we will also be using EP Skills for critical thinking activities and reading reflection. The boys need to complete their spelling worksheet everyday and return it to school the next day. On Fridays, we will also write our weekly spelling test.

17 Encourage your child to always do his best handwriting, drawing and colouring Should be returned the next day. If absent, check the three main subject textbooks for coloured tabs, I will write ‘complete’ on missed work. Homework not done three times is a timeout. Too much missed homework will affect test scores. Being prepared for class is part of homework. Homework should be done in a very quiet place with a desk and good light at the same time daily if possible. Please help your child with homework, but do not do the work for him.

18 Good boys get points for their teams or individual Super Tickets. Almost all boys have responded well to this. Boys that don’t follow the class rules lose team points, or go onto ‘timeout’ traffic light board. Red means ‘timeout’. If a boy wins a Super Ticket, they use it for rewards, or swop it and move off their colour on the board. At home: if boys are good at school, reward them! If they get timeouts maybe stop something they enjoy (cartoons or ice-cream) until they improve.

19 Healthy Snacks Your son may bring a healthy snack to eat at break time. Please do not allow him to bring unhealthy or sugary snacks as he will not be allowed to eat it during the school day. Examples of healthy snacks are: Seaweed, fruit, crackers, sandwiches, boiled eggs, nuts, etc.

21 Check and sign your son’s Homework Diary each day. Remind your son to check his timetable before packing his bag. Only bring the books that are needed. Otherwise their bags are too heavy to carry. Practice the Spelling List together. Its also a good idea to check their spelling together. Use “SpellingCity.com” – our spelling lists are uploaded every week. Take an active interest in your son’s day at school. Ask him to tell you about what he has learnt that day (In Thai or English). Play a sport twice a week or more. This improves energy levels. It also helps social development. Encourage your son to read for a short time each day. Your son can borrow English reading books from our EP Library.

22 Proper nutrition is necessary for healthy development – motor skills, concentration and intellectual skills. Please ensure that your son follows a healthy, balanced diet. Research shows that healthy eating can improve children's concentration and help them do better in school. To help your child get plenty of zzz’s: A lack of sleep at night can also affect motor skills and concentration during the day, leading to more accidents and behavioural problems, and poor performance at school. Your son should be getting about 10 hours of sleep a night. Help him by setting up a good night time routine.
