2 L. H. 2010 Read Jane’s diary and underline all the verbs. (Click on the diary to check your answers!) December 2 nd Last summer, I went to the south of France. I went there with my family. We got up very early and we left the house around four o’clock in the morning. We drove all the way down to Nice! We arrived at 10 p.m.!! I did so many things during these summer holidays! Every morning, I ran on the beach. One day, I saw a couple of dolphins. They were so cute! I also took some waterskiing lessons! I really loved it. Of course, I swam many times in the Mediterranean sea. It was sunny all the time so I put a lot of sun cream on my skin to protect it. I met many foreign teenagers at the beach and we spoke different languages: Italian, German, French, English, etc. We built huge sandcastles. I almost cut my finger with a seashell! We also organized a beach volleyball tournament. My team won! One evening, we sat down on the beach and we had a huge barbecue: we ate a lot of sausages and we drank a lot of lemonade. Afterwards we sang and we told scary stories. I spent all my money on a very beautiful dress. It cost 25 euros. I found a nice necklace to go with it and my parents bought it for me. I wrote and sent many postcards to my friends but I forgot to write to my grandparents! Oops! These summer holidays were really great! December 2 nd Last summer, I went to the south of France. 8 L. H. 2010 Read about Rebecca’s winter holidays. Can you spot all the irregular verbs? (Click on the diary to check your answers!) December 5 th Three years ago, Rebecca spent her winter holidays in Italy. In the Italian Alps, she learnt how to ski. She said it was difficult. She fell many times! She even hurt her left knee and broke her right arm! While skiing, she lost her favourite bracelet. The weather was very cold and windy. Even if she wore warm clothes (gloves, sweaters, etc.), she caught a cold! Her parents called a doctor who came immediately. He gave her some medicine. She stayed in bed for a couple of days. She felt very weak and slept a lot in order to get better. To while away the time, she read the third Harry Potter book and her mother made cookies to cheer her up. She brought me a nice scarf from Italy. It is a very beautiful scarf. I think she paid a lot of money for it. She did not like her holidays in Italy at all!
