Welcome to St. Peter! The Scripture lessons for this Second Sunday in Lent help us focus on the core truths of the Bible. Even though Jesus was rejected by many, the Christ was unwavering on his journey to redeem us. May these truths refresh you on your Lenten journey to the cross and empty tomb of Jesus, the Savior for all mankind.

Welcome to St. Peter! There are friendship registers at the end of each row. Please take a moment to give us your information so that we have a record of your time with us today. Thank you!

Love Divine, All Love Excelling CW #365 Verses 1-3 Text: Charles Wesley, 1707-88 Setting: HYFRYDOL Tune: Rowland H. Prichard, 1811-87

Verse 1: Love divine, all love excelling, Joy of heav'n, to earth come down, Fix in us your humble dwelling, All your faithful mercies crown. Jesus, you are all compassion, Boundless mercy from above. Visit us with benediction; Comfort us with heav'nly love.

Verse 2: Take away our love of sinning; Alpha and Omega be. End of faith as its beginning, Set our hearts at liberty. We would ever seek your blessing, Serve you as your host above, Pray and praise you without ceasing, Glory in your perfect love.

Verse 3 (Please Rise): Sanctify your new creation; Pure and spotless let us be. Let us trust your great salvation, Won for us on Calvary, Till we lay our crowns before you, Till in heav'n we take our place, Till in glory we adore you, Lost in wonder, love, and praise.

Pastor: In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. All: Amen.

Pastor: Lent is a special season of the Church Year during which we make a special effort to confess our sins to the Lord and to repent of them. Let us then bow before God and humbly ask his forgiveness.

All: Holy and merciful Father, I confess that I am by nature sinful and that I have disobeyed you in my thoughts, words, and actions. I have done what is evil and failed to do what is good. For this I deserve your punishment both now and in eternity.

All: But I am truly sorry for my sins, and trusting in my Savior Jesus Christ, I pray: Lord, have mercy on me, a sinner.

(Pastor announces our forgiveness) All: Amen.

Pastor: O Lord, teach us your ways that we may walk in your truth. All: You comfort and help us day by day. We trust your loving care.

Pastor: You are the King of heaven and earth. All: We give you praise and thanks.

Pastor: Let us pray. (Pastor says the prayer of the day) All: Amen.
