2 Appeal to God’s Mercy & Love Noting how God’s love endures – vs. 1 And that pardon comes not from our merit, but from the mercies of the Lord! – Titus 3:4- 7 Remember the Pharisee and tax collector – Luke 18:9-14

3 Acknowledge Our Sinful State David no longer tries to hide his sin – vs. 3-4 Realizing it was really God he had sinned against – Acts 5:1-4 This is how we receive His grace – 1 John 1:6- 9 And look at the alternative! – vs. 10

4 Pray For Restoration To be where God wants us to be – 2 Cor. 5:18- 19 Notice how David worded this – vs. 10-12 More than forgiveness of the current transgression Long for the joy of salvation – Acts 8:36-39

5 Resolve to Offer Grateful Service As did David – vs. 13-15 This is true repentance, showing fruit Leading to salvation – 2 Cor. 7:9-11 Think of how little our words mean when we do nothing to back them up! – 1 John 3:16-18

6 Conclusion Confession is not regulated or overseen by man; it is between the individual and God, a necessary step for repentance and righteousness. Do not neglect it!
