4. Part Definitions REVERSE – backwards stitching
STITCH LENGTH CONTROL – adjust stitch length, short to long
BOBBIN WINDING SPINDLE – holds bobbin while thread is wound from spool
SPOOL PIN – hold thread spools while sewing
STITCH WIDTH – controls width when using zigzag or patterns
THREAD GUIDES – holds upper thread in place as it moves

5. Part Definitions
TENSION CONTROL – adjusts tightness and looseness of upper thread
FEED DOGS – tooth-like surface that moves fabric during stitching
HAND WHEEL – manual control of needle movement
POWER SOCKET/SWITCH – connects power cord and foot feed to machine
PRESSER FOOT LIFTER – raises and lowers presser foot

6. Part Definitions PRESSER FOOT – holds fabric in place during sewing
THROAT PLATE – metal plate under needle containing seam markings
BOBBIN – small flat spool that holds bottom thread
BOBBIN CASE – holds bobbin during sewing, found under throat plate
FOOT FEED – foot pedal that controls speed of machine
NEEDLE – creates the stitches
