8 The Founder Amber Jalan has 3 years of experience in hosteling and is a pioneer in the hostel space in India. He started India’s first backpacker hostel in 2012 in Goa, and is the founder of the Moustache brand of hostels with presence in Delhi and Jaipur. Before Moustache, he advised senior management of Fortune 500 companies with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) as a strategy consultant for 4 years. At BCG, he worked across sectors such as private equity, consumer research and infrastructure. Amber is a Mechanical Engineer from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore and a graduate of Delhi Public School (DPS), Vasant Kunj. He has travelled across over 30 countries, and has lived and worked in 7 of them.
