6. www.gu.se RS2235, The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict, 15 higher education credits The aim with the course is to analyze the causes of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. After completion of the course the student shall be able to:  Summarize the historical development of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict since 1900;  Conduct a conflict analysis and identify the main parties to the conflict, as well as their needs, interests and motives;  Present the major agreements that have been signed in order to solve the conflict, as well as identify their weaknesses and strengths;  Lift forward various theoretical explanations to why conflict resolution interventions so far have failed.

7. www.gu.se RS2235, The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict, 15 higher education credits Examination and grading principles The intended learning outcomes will be assessed through a number of examinations conducted in groups and individually, written and oral. Each student will do the following examinations that consists of five parts: 1. An assignment that runs parallel to lectures and seminars (oral). 2. Three (3) individually written seminar papers. 3. Active participation in teacher free seminars (oral). 4. Active participation in exercises. 5. A take home exam at the end of the course (written).
