2 January 14, 2016 – Write a letter to the main character – Include another letter of the character’s response

3 January 21, 2016 *Snow Day* – Create a travel brochure for the setting of your story; include things to do and places to visit (you may have to research a little!)

4 January 28, 2016 – Write about the decisions you would make if you were the main character in the story – How would they differ from the characters?

5 February 4, 2016 *Journal Check* – Make a list of new, unusual, or interesting words found in your book – Create a worksheet/activity to go with these words

6 February 11, 2016 – Write an acrostic poem using the title of your story

7 February 18, 2016 – Describe (in detail) three characters – List why you would (or wouldn’t) want to get to know these characters

8 February 25, 2016 – Create a book jacket; include illustrations, an enticing synopsis, author bio, and positive reviews

9 March 3,2016 **You should renew your books!!! – Write a news article about an important event in the novel thus far.

10 March 10, 2016 – Write or summarize your book into a comic or picture book (change it so it’s aimed for younger audiences)

11 March 17, 2016 – Write a different ending (or predict from where you are in the story) for the book. – Mimic the author’s style

12 March 24, 2016 – Explain why you think this book will (or not) be read one hundred years from now; support your opinion!

13 March 31, 2016 – Design a poster depicting the climax of the story (or a movie poster including casting choices)

14 April 14, 2016 – Write an interview between a talk show host and the main character

15 April 21, 2016 – Describe one scene from your book that you recall most; explain why you think it remains so clear to you.

16 April 28, 2016 – Write a dialogue between two of your characters that might happen off the pages of your story.

17 May 5, 2016 – Write a letter to the author.

18 May 12, 2016 – Draw a mural depicting major scenes from book

19 May 19, 2016 – Write a possible quiz for your book (minimum 10 questions) with answers
