Learning Plans and Evaluations: The Field Learning Plan is a collaborative effort between the student and practicum supervisor. There should be at least two to three (2-3) learning activities written to encompass each core competency. A learning activity may address more than one competency. Learning activities should be written using complete sentences, identify social work skills as a primary focus, and use a SMART formula S=Specific, M=Measurable, A=Action-oriented, R=Realistic, T=Time-restricted/limited. Students should use the Learning Plan as a tool to measure a student’s progress throughout the practicum. It is recommended for students to retain a copy of the document for planning purposes.
