2 The Coast of England 1. What does the English coast look like? Describe what you see.

3 This is the boat the English colonists used to sail across the Atlantic Ocean to America. 2. What would it be like to sail on this boat for many months across the ocean? How would you feel on this boat?

4 3. Describe where the Jamestown Colony was located. Which other people or colonies are nearby? Include geographic features, too.

5 Virginia Coast 4. You have sailed across the Atlantic Ocean for many months. This is what you see upon arrival to America. Describe how you would feel getting off of the boat at last!

6 James River 5. This is the James River where you will settle. Why does this look like a good place to build a colony? Apply what you are learning about water in Science class!

7 6. Upon setting up camp you and your fellow colonists begin to explore the new land and find this. What do you think this is?

8 7. Predict how the English colonists will treat the Native Americans.

9 8. Describe the Jamestown colony. 9.How does it compare to the Native American homes? Look at slide 7 & 8 for help.
