The Hunger Games: Catching Fire The tagline attracts viewers attention. It also makes them curious about what the film entails. The colours of the poster; reds and oranges link to the title of the film. So does the imagery of the fire surrounded the main image. The dark colours of the poster hint to a darker undertone to the film. The fact that the Jennifer Lawrence is in the centre of the fire suggest that she is at the heart of the fight or that she is spark that lit the fire. The title of the film is below the central image which makes people focus on it. It is also the largest font on the poster and in capital letters which makes it easy to read from far away. Release date for the movie which is in the same font as the title of the font shows that it is also important information about the film. The main image is big and eye catching. Highlighting who the main character of the film is. Because the main image is so big people will be able to see who that main character is, Jennifer Lawrence, meaning that people who like her will be drawn to the poster. The billing card gives lot of in depth information about the film. The costume and the bow and arrow hint to what the narrative of the film will entail. For instance the costume suggests that she will re- enter the arena. The main character holding the bow connotes violence, appealing to the target audience, young adults and teens. The facial expression of the main character is tense and serious, anticipating danger. Reinforcing the idea that this sequel is darker than the first.

28 Days Later This interest the viewer and hints to the narrative of the film, giving the viewer an idea of what the film will be like. Plus I gives some background information to the film. which relates to the title of the film. The tagline hints to the narrative of the film. It interest the viewer making them want to see the film. The design of the poster looks like a graphic novel, attracting people who are interested in that. The red blood background, connotes the idea of blood. Which links to the zombie eyes, it also makes the viewer think that there would be a lot of blood involved in the film. The stencil like background show London landmarks, which reveals to the viewer where the film is set. The title of the film in the centre of the poster and in the biggest and boldest font Shows the name of the director who made the movie, allowing the viewer to know who did it. If they liked any of his previous films that are likely to see this one as well. The lone man walking through London gives the impression that he is the last human, surviving in London. The billing board gives information about the film, actors/actresses, producers.

The Matrix The background of the poster is computer coding which relates to the themes of the film, and reinforces the science fiction sub genre of the film. It also hints to the narrative of the film and feel of the film. Neo, the main character is central and at the front of the poster, showing that he is important and is the main character. The supporting characters are behind the main character image, allowing the viewer to differentiate between them. The title of the film is very noticeable and unique, people will remember it so if they see it on any of the matrix ancillary products people will know where they are from. It also looks apocalyptic, highlighting the genre of the film. The film’s tagline makes the viewer interested and it relates to the content of the film, hinting to the plot of the film. Actors names are at the top of the poster attract audiences who are a fan of them. All the characters on the poster are wearing sunglasses, which is hiding their identity, adding mystery to them. Giving them the impression that they are part of a rebellion. The fact that all of them are also holding guns connotes violence which appeals to their target audience, males, young adults, adults.
