Testing to see how mung beans will grow upside down, and sideways.
2
Our Hypothesis We believe that during the growth period, gravitropism will take over, and the mung beans will start to grow up because we think that gravity is much stronger than the plant's need for light.
3
Research Question If we plant mung beans upside down, right side up, and sideways, will they all grow up? Which plant will grow the longest?

Experimental Design Here is a list of materials we will use: 1. Mungbean seeds 2. 3 plastic water bottles 3. soil 4. mesh 5. tape 6. string 7. hooks 8. water 9. sunlight We will test which plant hanging which way will grow the longest. We will hang a plant upside down, normally, and sideways. We planted mung beans in the soil about 1 inch deep, and will cut holes in the bottom of the bottles to pour water in when the time comes.

Research Conclusion All plants grew upwards due to gravitation, as expected. The plant that was hanging right side up grew the longest. The upside down plant only grew one sprout, while the sideways and right side up plants both grew five sprouts. Our hypothesis ended up being correct, as we thought would happen. We believe that this happened because the sun light was hitting it so that probably help it grow, but the only reason it was facing the sun light was because it was side ways.
