5 GLOBAL VILLAGE Advances in technology, especially in communications and transportation, have brought people around the world closer together so that they can interact almost as easily as if they lived in the same small village

18 WHAT CAN WE DO TO HELP?

19 Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) try to find solutions for global issues. They are especially concerned with human rights issues (child labour) and environmental issues (habitat protection and preserving endangered species)

20 Be a good GLOBAL CITIZEN: Canadian citizen has well-established human rights. Take advantage of this. Take responsibility and take action. It can be big or small.
