2014/15 implementation: Mapping English language provision needs 2015/16 implementation: Interpreters barriers to accessing mainstream services 2016/17 implementation: Employment – barriers; employers; skills recognition Interpreter barriers to accessing mainstream services – development of across-government implementation framework How do we support people to belong?

Some of the areas we discussed at the 2015 Forum included: Results based accountabilities Qualitative Engagement in local community National identity Data – access to housing, employment, health, education enrolment, representation, voting Current participation measure in the New Zealand Refugee Resettlement Strategy – proxy via achievement at level 2 or higher on the NZQA framework How do we measure success for the Participation outcome?

Further work is needed to better understand and measure participation New Zealand Migrant Settlement and Integration Strategy’s Inclusion outcome success indicators include: voting in general and local authority elections level of discrimination experienced/reported via the Migrant Survey Engagement or belonging to social networks and groups (including sports groups) – Statistics New Zealand How do we measure success for the Participation outcome?
