Should animals be kept in Zoos ?
There is no denying that zoos have served as both recreational and educational venues for people to see animals firsthand. However, I believe that all zoos should be closed down if we really want to protect animals and treat them fairly. Animals in zoos do not live a natural existence. Zoos might keep animals safe but they are destroying them at the same time. The animals are being exploited for MONEY, it might be entertaining to visit a Zoo but the animals in them lose their freedom, ability to hunt and many are not even able to run within their enclosures. Even in a “natural habitat enclosure”, animals are still confined and their behaviour and habits change as a consequence of their confinement. Therefore in truth people who visit Zoos are not seeing natural animal behaviour, but merely miserable imprisoned creatures.
