SAFETY FIRST! I want everyone to have a fun and enjoyable trip, but my number one job is to make sure students return home safe and sound. What is safe > What is “fun” Chaperone ratio to traveler is 2:7 (we have 9 travelers). When we are out of the hotel this group of 9 will stick together.
5
Passport If a traveler does not currently have one, get this taken care of ASAP. http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/engl ish/passports/apply.html http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/engl ish/passports/apply.html This is the most important item you will have. Make a copy and place in the folder we give you at the last meeting. Travelers will hold their own passports What happens if you lose your passport….
6
Customs The US is the most scrutinizing place for customs in all of my international travels. I don’t know about Belize. Travelers should answer questions with courtesy and be straightforward. Travelers will have a folder with a complete schedule and itinerary. Travelers should get this out and show the customs officer if asked for any proof.
