Similarities/Differences NME and Kerrang both use only one page for their contents and Q uses two. This is because Q is released monthly as opposed to NME and Kerrang that are released weekly, so it has more information to provide on its contents page. All three examples use columns, this helps the reader find what they are looking for quickly and easily. All examples have a main image and then a selection of smaller images. This helps to draw attention to the main articles in the magazine. Compared to Kerrang and Q, NME’s contents page is quite simple. It does not have as many sections to it. Kerrang is the only page to have an editor’s letter, this makes the magazine feel a little more personal and engages the reader. Both NME and Kerrang have subscription advertisements on their contents pages, this encourages regular readers to subscribe to the magazine and save themselves some money.
