* Besides bumping up the minimum storage capacity from the Surface Pro 3's 64GB to 128GB on the Surface Pro 4, Microsoft has added an ultra-premium option to the new 2-in-1 with a 1TB SDD drive.

* This is technically an optional add-on for the Surface Pro 4. * The mechanical keys are now slightly smaller and spaced further apart, which could provide a more familiar and comfortable experience for those more accustomed to a laptop.

* The huge 16GB of RAM that's been stuffed into the higher-end Surface Pro 4 models. * With the right processor, it could also make the Surface Pro 4 a viable alternative to a full- on mobile workstation.

* The nine-hour battery life claimed by Microsoft on the Surface Pro 4 should be enough to get you through most working days, whether you're browsing the web, compiling a presentation or responding to emails.

* The Surface Pro 4 will ship with a new and improved version of Microsoft's Surface Pen stylus. * The redesigned Pen offers 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity, a year-long battery life, a variety of color options and Cortana integration, which can be activated by holding the button on the stylus.

* Microsoft has added a USB 3.0 port to the Surface Pro 4. * It's unsurprising but very useful, enabling the Surface Pro 4 to accept thumb drives, hold a wired connection to a smartphone or tether to a wireless mouse and keyboard which require a USB dongle.

* Sporting a 2736x1824 display, the Surface Pro 4 delivers a sucker punch to the average 1080p resolution found in many tablets and hybrids on the market.

* The Surface Pro 4 gives buyers the choice of a Core M3 chip at the entry level, up to the more powerful Core i5 and Core i7 options, giving it the power of a laptop in a tablet form factor.

* Despite having a number of improvements, the Surface Pro 4 is the thinnest version of Microsoft's ‘laptop replacement' yet. * It's just 8.4mm thick and weighs 786g.

* Windows 10 Pro adds features designed to let devices such as the Surface Pro 4 function well in a business environment. * These include the ability to be joined to a corporate network domain and managed via Group Policy in Active Directory, BitLocker encryption, client-side virtualization using Hyper-V, and Remote Desktop.
