The size of the dots is proportional to the number of subjects included in each study. For the study by Johnson, the 95% confidence interval could not be calculated from the reported data. The studies are sorted according to the technique of measurement (O, oscillometric; A, auscultatory) and the number of blood pressure readings averaged per subject. Figure Legend:
