Haze is traditionally an atmospheric phenomenon where dust, smoke and other dry particles obscure the clarity of the sky. Since 1991, haze has been a particularly acute problem in Southeast Asia, Indonesian forest fires burnt to clear land being the reason.

The 1997 Southeast Asian haze was a large-scale air quality disaster which occurred during the second half of 1997 In 2005, Malaysia experienced a severe haze situation. Port Klang and Selangor were declared a haze emergency state on 11 August 2005. Latest, July 2011, haze is back..

Reduce outdoor physical activities Ensure your indoor air is always clean. Reduce indoor air pollution especially, from cigarette smoke Use the car air conditioner. Select the re-circulate air mode Wash your hands and face with soap and clean water after performing/attending outdoor activities
