2 Haze is traditionally an atmospheric phenomenon where dust, smoke and other dry particles obscure the clarity of the sky. Since 1991, haze has been a particularly acute problem in Southeast Asia, Indonesian forest fires burnt to clear land being the reason.

3 The 1997 Southeast Asian haze was a large-scale air quality disaster which occurred during the second half of 1997 In 2005, Malaysia experienced a severe haze situation. Port Klang and Selangor were declared a haze emergency state on 11 August 2005. Latest, July 2011, haze is back..

6 Aggravates existing chronic diseases such as: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Asthma Pneumonia Cardiovascular diseases Sore throat Conjunctivitis Cough and cold

7 Reduce outdoor physical activities Ensure your indoor air is always clean. Reduce indoor air pollution especially, from cigarette smoke Use the car air conditioner. Select the re-circulate air mode Wash your hands and face with soap and clean water after performing/attending outdoor activities
