I am a wife and mother. My daughter, Rachel, is ten years old and loves school. I spent some time homeschooling her this school year. My family and I live in New Hampshire.

I am currently enrolled in the MATLT program at Ashford University. This is the third degree I have pursued at Ashford. I successfully completed my AA in Organizational Management and my BA in History.

Student experience I had positive experiences in school in grades K-12. I was always a good student and earned good grades. I went to a private all girls school in Springfield, MA for grades 7-9. I attended a private Catholic all girls school in Tyngsboro, MA for grades 10-12. I enjoyed playing basketball and lacrosse. I also enjoyed being involved in clubs such as S.A.D.D., and Key Club.

Professional Experience I have not been lucky enough to work in the field of education as of yet. My background is in jobs that were simply worked to make ends meet. I am currently a stay at home wife and mother.

Future Goals After I complete my MATLT degree at Ashford I want to teach History online at the college level. I would love to pursue a MA in History as well. I believe my Master’s Degree will open up a world of opportunity for me.

Influences I had a teacher named Ms. Samuels for several different classes in high school. I had always liked History; however, Ms. Samuels made me love it, she awoke my passion for the subject. My passion for History led me to pursue my BA in History and is the basis for my dream of becoming a History teacher myself.

My favorite quotes about education “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” ~ Nelson Mandela “The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled” ~ Plutarch
