3 PACS IIDR ESTEC 01/02 March 2001 Budgets and Interfaces 3 Instrument Interfaces to S/C Mechanical interface to OB (FPU) ! Mechanical interface to SVM (WE) Mechanical interface to CVV (BOLA) Thermal interface to S/C cooling system ! (FPU to temperature level 0 and 1 only) Electrical interface to S/C (data, power, sync) Electrical interface (FPU to WE) Optical interface (FPU to telescope focus) ! ! means: AI pending

9 PACS IIDR ESTEC 01/02 March 2001 Budgets and Interfaces 9 Thermal Budget and I/F: FPU- S/C cryostat FPU requires two temperature levels - level 0 at 1.7K (max. 1.75K accepted) - level 1 around 4K (max. 5.0K accepted) Other temperatures inside the FPU are produced autonomously (2.2K / 0.3K) Thermal coupling to level0 via 4 heat straps Thermal coupling to level1 via 1 (tbc) heat strap FPU is thermally decoupled from OB Thermal loads are given in the following table
