My Philosophy As a teacher, I believe students expect to learn information that is interesting and make them want to learn more. The lessons I teach will cause the students to ask questions. I also believe the questions which the students ask will let me know they expect thorough informative answers which will satisfy their curiosity. I expect, as a teacher, to be professional at all times. I would like for the students to see me as a person whom they can trust and come to besides their parents if something is wrong.

Classroom Management Goal It is my purpose to provide an environment which is safe for students to learn. I would like for my 12 th grade history students to feel comfortable and motivated while learning in the classroom. I will also provide an environment for my students to express their questions concerning the lessons taught and learn from each other through questions to their peers and to me. These questions will provide dialogue making the students comfortable with each other. I will also set rules which I expect all students to follow. My classroom will be arranged in a way that is considered to be easily accessible for me to walk around the room and observed each student from my desk. Once this is accomplish, I believe my students will be able to learn and express their ideas in a fun and favored classroom. While teaching my high school students, I will always respect them. Respect goes both ways.

Important Elements of Effective Lesson Design Research – Gather knowledge, ask teacher questions and use internet Write good learning objectives – Objectives should be clear and understanding Clarity, completeness and specificity – Coherent and no misspelled words
7
Why are good learning objectives critical to planning effective instruction? Good learning objectives are critical to planning effective instruction because it helps the teachers to write lesson plans which the student is able to learn from. Learning objectives serves as a guide for teachers who are struggling to teach students of different ethnic groups. It also serves as an educational bridge which conveys the ideas of the teacher to the student.

Example of a good learning objective Common Core Standard Students will be able to answer questions from the reading assignment through written test. The learning objective will enable students to use critical – thinking skills necessary for today’s society.

Professional Learning Communities I believe that schools should serve as a place of continual learning. Like the students, teachers are always learning. They are learning new ways to teach students and prepare them for the first 21 st century. As society grows and new technology is introduced, teachers must adapt and plan their lessons to teach. The knowledge of students versus the knowledge of teachers is a tough choice. On one hand, the knowledge of teachers is needed to teach students whereas the knowledge of students is needed to continue society. Through continual learning both teacher and student benefit because as new information is introduced, teachers can use formative and summative assessment to find out if students are learning the subject. To ensure that teachers are continually learning, the principals may do assessments. The principals may discuss the strengths and weakness with the teacher. As a result of the discussion, the teacher may correct their weaknesses and finds ways to make their strength more solid.
