3 3 Recent LoB Activities FY 07 Baseline Data Collection Activities – results used to update Joint Business Case & refine LoB tasks & deliverables for FY 08/09: –Budget Data Call –Qualitative Data Survey –A-16 Data Steward Reports Performance Management –Completed LoB Performance Management Strategy and draft Performance Management Plan –Provides framework for measuring progress in implementing LoB Common Solutions Program Management Office (PMO) established - September 2007

4 4 Recent LoB Activities Completed initial FY2009 Joint Business Case –Achieved high degree of consensus with partner agencies on refined JBC goals/objectives MOUs and IAAs –Completed in August 2007, with 100% participation from partner agencies in support of the LoB Task Force Transition –Draft Memorandum under review - facilitates transition of responsibilities from LoB Task Force to FGDC Coordination Group

8 8 FY 2009 Joint Business Case Activities Identified and mapped tasks to milestones in the FY 2009 JBC Re-baselined and prioritized JBC tasks – derived from Common Solutions/Target Architecture document –Reprioritization of PMO task activities: 2007, 2008 & 2009 Refined tasks with a statement of expected ROI Expanded sub-tasks with deliverables Estimated level-of-effort and timeline for priority Tasks / Sub-Tasks Created workgroups needed to address the tasks Distributed Final JBC to Agencies for Concurrence –Concurrence from all but one agency on the FY 2009 JBC Next Steps Revise Exhibit 300 in preparation for OMB passback Identify workgroup participants –Validate timelines, deliverables, and level of effort –Develop a workplan for each workgroup to achieve the tasks

9 9 Re-Baselined LoB Tasks - Aligned to Common Solutions Enhanced GovernancePlanning & Investment Strategies Optimize & Standardize Data/Services Task 1: Review/Update FGDC Guidance Documents (Circular A-16, EO 12906, etc.) Task 2: Evaluate and define the nine stages of the geospatial data life cycle and identify common capabilities to allow cost-benefit ROI for shared services. Task 3: Define and establish geospatial data steward life cycle responsibilities and performance measures for A-16 Framework data themes and Nationally Significant Data Themes.

Task 10: Provide a broker service for data searching among agencies which will build on and improve existing systems.
