1) Load the programme

To do this move the pointer (arrow) over the top of the line until it looks like this Hold down the LEFT mouse button and DRAG the bar to the left hand side ‘Click & drag’ the bar over to the left.

Or ‘click’ the Slide View button at the bottom of the screen.

‘Right click’ the mouse while pointing to the page to bring up the menu

When this appears ‘Click’ Background This will bring up a new menu

Click here for the dropdown menu When you have chosen the background you want ‘click’ Apply – for one page or Apply to All to format the complete presentation

4) Working with Text

Create a text box by clicking the icon Then ‘click and drag’ on the page and type your comment in the box

and type your comment in the box Highlight the text by ‘clicking’ at the start of the text with the Left mouse button, and drag to the end

5) Working with pictures

To ‘Insert’ a picture either ‘click’ Insert then Picture from ClipArt

In PowerPoint 2000 this catalogue will appear (in other versions it may look a little different)

‘Click’ on the category you require

Or type in a ‘key word’ in the ‘Search for clips:’ box

Click on the picture you would like to use Then click to insert the picture.

Drag the corners to resize whilst still keeping the pictures proportions

To animate text or pictures first click the object,

To animate text or pictures first click the object, Then RIGHT click the mouse button A new menu will appear Now click ‘Custom Animation’
