4. OPENING HOURS Monday - Friday: 11am – 5pm Saturday: 10am - 5pm Wednesdays and Sundays Closed Open Bank Holidays except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day

5. ENTRY CHARGE Admission Free DISABLED VISITORS Access to lower floor galleries and toilet via ramp to front door entrance from Greek Street. Access to upper gallery via lift. CAR PARKING Stockport College car park (entry off Greek Street) Available Saturdays only. Parking below Stopford House, Piccadilly, Stockport or nearby street parking available (charges applicable).

6. THE HISTORY of Stockport War Memorial and Art Gallery The official opening of the Art Gallery and War Memorial was on 15 October 1925 The first foundation stone for the War Memorial was laid in 1923 'In memory of the men of Stockport who fell in the Great War (1914-1918)' Previously in 1832, this site had been the home of Stockport Grammar School, which was vacated on the erection of the school at Mile End Additional tablets were added to the Memorial in 1952 in memory of the people who lost their lives during Second World War (1939-1945) In 1983 were being added two more tablets with the names of people who lost their lives in the Falklands Campaign, Korea and Northern Ireland.

7. INFORMATION ABOUT MY PLACEMENT Length of placement 20th of September – 13th of December My typical week at work From Monday till Friday I am off on Wednesdays (Gallery is closed) and at weekends!!! Working hours 11 am – 17 pm
