3  Huge area of land that layed between pacific ocean and the rocky mountain north of California Washington,Oregon & Idaho  Treaty with great britian 2000 mile journey started in independence crossed the great plains Platte river, Columbia river, snake river  Line lattitude that democrat believed should be nations border

4  Texans won their independence from Mexico and asked to be admitted to the united states  in October 2, 1835 with the battle of Gonzales  1803 when the Louisiana territory from France  Took his father land grant recruited 300 americans families to settle the land along the Brazos river they called it the old three hundreds  The decree stopped all immigration from the united states ; also encouraged the immigration of Mexican and European families with generous land grant s angered Texans.  General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna  Spanish Mission in San Antonio in 1836, the mission held a Small force of 180 Texans led by Williams B. Trans Santa Anna Defeated all of the Texans.  March 2,1836  Washington – on –the-Brazos  Sam Houston
