2. My activities as Deputy Chair of US CMS Collaboration  Nominated young physicists for CMS talks at conferences.  Helped US CMS members integrating within CMS especially those in CERN.  Gave information on US Income Taxes, including treatment of COLA.  Created guidelines for COLA payments (member of COLA committee).  Investigated Health Insurance in CERN area, recommended alternatives to CERN Insurance.  Helped locate office space in CERN.  Brought 2 to 4 high school physics teachers each year to CERN for one month each to work on CMS. Program now in its sixth year.  Helped US CMS Chair in various activities of US CMS Collaboration, including the planning of the US CMS annual meeting. Have hosted one of these meetings.

3. As Deputy Chair my priorities are listed below Respond to requests by the Chair of the Collaboration Board. Help US CMS Project manager on a need basis. Respond to US CMS member requests. Help new US CMS members arriving CERN. Help graduate students and post docs at CERN and in the US work productively. Help with the outreach effort.

4. Other activities in CMS (1): Joined CMS in 1994 and helped design, construct and assemble the HCAL system. Build the HCAL Laser and LED systems. Set up the H2 test beam (with two others) at the SPS. (Sub) editor of HCAL papers. Edited and helped write many HCAL papers. Help HCAL Shifters at point 5.

5. Other Activities in CMS (2): Have taken many Central Shifts in Detector Safety before end of 2009. In 2010 this task was merged with DCS/DSS shifts. In 2008 I modified extensively Safety Tours at point 5 and trained many of the safety shifters. These safety tours continue now by the DCS shifters. Taken numerous Central DCS shifts and will soon start taking Shift Leader shifts (already trained). Have trained many Central DCS shifters. Have served as an ARC member and presently I am ARC member of two papers.

6. Final comment During the next two years CMS is expected to take a large amount of data and we are poised to do front line physics. I retired from teaching duties in January 2008 so I can devote full time on CMS and plan to continue working on CMS for the foreseeable future.
