South Korea, commonly referred to as Korea, is a sovereign state in East Asia. The capital city is Seoul. South Koreans lead a distinctive urban lifestyle with half of them living in the Seoul Capital Area, the world's third largest city with over 25 million residents and a leading global city with the fourth largest economy. In 1945 Korea was divided into North and South Korea. A North Korean invasion led to the Korean War (1950–53). South Korea is known for high quality brands like Samsung, the world's leading smartphone and TV maker.

South Korean Cuisine Korean cuisine is largely based on rice, vegetables, and meats. Traditional Korean meals are noted for the number of side dishes that accompany steam- cooked short-grain rice. Commonly used ingredients include sesame oil, soy sauce, salt, garlic, ginger, pepper flakes gochujang (fermented red chili paste) and cabbage. Kimchi is the national dish of Korea. This is fermented vegetables, usually cabbage, cucumber or radishes. Kimchi is almost always served at every meal.

Today’s Theatre Bar Dish is Bulgogi Beef with Kimchi & Sticky Rice South Korea Bulgogi Beef is marinated in a soy sauce, garlic, ginger and pears. Its can be char- grilled, barbequed or pan-fried. Its often served with a lettuce leaf, which is used to wrap the cooked meat in. This is how we will be serving it today. Malcolm has made is own Kimchi, which has been fermenting for two weeks…….we hope you enjoy!!!
