4 Delve Sentence from “The Stone”: “Maibon’s shovel no longer delved as it had when it was new.” Part of Speech: verb Definitions:  To dig  To research Examples:  The gardener delves into the ground to plant the flower.  The detective delved deeper into the evidence, looking for answers.
