3. Activator  Through the use of CPS Units or Survey Monkey the teachers will be given a pre-assessment based on the scenarios in Table 6.1 on page 108 of text.

Rationale/Objectives  Teachers will be able to identify when their expression may be protected or limited under the First Amendment.  Teachers will be able to apply the First Amendment analysis to real-life scenarios involving teacher speech both inside and outside the classroom.  Teachers will gain new knowledge of likely consequences associated with unprotected speech.
