Unit Plan  Last session we agreed to undertake a Professional Discussion around the four learning outcomes.  We agree that I will need to undertake an observation of reverent work products.  You have already achieved this unit at level 5 however you still may be required to hold a short PD or some written work as evidence.  We agreed it may be necessary for you to look at some theory's and give examples how they apply within your role as the manager.  Oral Question will be used if not all learning outcomes achieved with the above evidence.

3. Aim of Session Unit aim This unit develops your understanding around all matters financial, how to create a full set of accounts ratios for profitability and costing.

4. Learning outcomes There are six learning outcomes to this unit. The learner will: 1. Understand the nature of financial accounting and the principles of double entry book- keeping 2. Know how to prepare a set of financial accounts for a sole trader and a limited company 3. Know how to calculate and interpret accounting ratios for profitability and liquidity 4. Understand the principles of costing for materials, labour and overheads 5. Understand the way costing principles can be used in short-term decision-making 6. Understand the principles of budgeting and budgetary control
