10 Scope of Survey 2015 Social Care SurveyFuture Social Care Survey

11 What will we know in future? Who gets a social care service – age, gender, ethnicity, living alone, etc Gross agreed budget – what they were given to spend on services Why they need services – for personal care, respite care, etc Outcomes (from Health & Social Care Experience Survey) But not so much on exactly what services they get – home care hours, etc

12 Outcomes

13 Future Direction We should collect information ONCE and make use of it MULTIPLE times for statistics analysis and research link data with Health to provide additional value / analysis and make linked data available to researchers through safe havens make anonymised individual level Social Care data available to researchers (academic, LA, HB, IJB, 3 rd sector) for further analysis make aggregated Social Care data available on the new open data platform http://statistics.gov.scot/http://statistics.gov.scot/ consider whether Learning Disability Statistics Scotland (LDSS) can be merged with Social Care Survey to reduce data burden and duplication
