1. Political Parties An election happens every 4 years. People vote for the candidate/party who share the same views and ideas as they do. Parties want people to vote for them. Think about How does a party let people know what their views and ideas are ? Review

2. Manifesto Each party produces a declaration of their intentions, views, and opinions. The manifesto highlights what changes the party would make to society. People are encouraged to read each party’s manifesto before choosing a party to vote for. Each political party has their own ideas about things that effect everyone in the country (the society). They may want to make changes to things like:  Obesity  Drugs  Environment  Hunting  Police

3. Now it’s your turn Think about what you would like to change (or keep the same) in your society. What do you think is important?. choose 2 things that you feel strongly about. Write a statement to say what you believe should happen. Give reasons for your choice This will then make it easier to share your thoughts with your group.
