2. What is God’s Will and Plan ?? 1.We’ve been asked quite a few times, as to what is God’s plan for me, for SA or the Church…?? 2.AND some even ask: “How do I know what is God’s WILL, and how do I know that I’m still in His will…??”, or we’ve heard people say “I’m so scared I’m missing His Will or plan..” …etc.. 3.And lastly, another question people ask is: “How do I know if I’m called by God, and what is my calling..” …etc.. 4.We would like to shed some light for you on these questions, to help you to understand God’s WILL & God’s PLAN for you as His Child, but also for SA, and the Church a little better… 5.People mostly ask these questions, because of the following well known scriptures: 6.Rom 8:29-30 For whom He did foreknow (known before), He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He did predestinate, them He also called: and whom He called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified. 7.Eph 4:7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. 8.Eph 4:11 And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 9.1Cor 12:4-7 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 10.1Cor 12:8-10 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: 11.1Cor 12:11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as He will. 12.1Cor 12:27-30 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? 13.NOW: The following scripture started to help me to understand these questions and the scriptures I mentioned above, a little better: Joh 7:6-8 Jesus said to them, "My time has not yet come, but your time is always here. The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify about it that its works are evil. You go up to the feast. I am not going up to this feast, for my time has not yet fully come." 3. What is God’s Will and Plan ?? (continue…) 1.Meaning: What I’m trying to say – is, that there are certain people that God has great plans for yes, and He will call them at certain times, and for a certain purpose etc… through dreams, and visions (like Jesus, his Mother Mary, John the Baptist, or Joseph, David, etc..), or even through signs and wonders like Moses… and in today’s time, even call people from amongst a huge crowed of people, through a very strong Prophetic Word…normally even to the astonishment of that person…as sometimes, they had no idea what God’s call or vision were for them, until that specific day… 2.BUT Then – there are other people (like Jesus’ brothers), that just never have these “special moments” where they are called for a specific calling, and they feel rejected, and are wondering, “what makes that other person so special, and why am I not even being noticed by anyone, etc…” 3.Or they ask – I hear all these wonderful promises from the Word, but why am I staying in my circumstances, and it seems like God has forgotten about me, and is overlooking me… 4.And yes, sometimes it really looks and feels like that for some of us…and can make us feel very depressed and rejected… 5.But the Good News is – God hasn’t forgotten about anyone in particular… !!! He knows each an every one of us by Name, Address, ID number, Phone number, our parents, families, work situation, etc etc… He knows it all…!!! 6.Sometimes – it is just – you and I aren’t “being noticed” for a specific calling, ‘cause God has a different purpose for us – He says – your time is any time you choose to get up, and go and do My word… all I want you to do, is take it by faith and step out and do.. And you will see that I am with you wherever you go…!!! (eg: the whole book of James – telling us to get up in Faith, and go and DO the Word), and James is suspected to be one of Jesus’ brothers that stood up with the apostles and took leadership amongst the first church… (see eg Acts15:1-21, & Gal 1:19, Gal 2:9-12) 7.THUS: Don’t ever think – because you aren’t being picked out of a group/crowd and being prophesied over, or receiving these huge / awesome words, or see visions, or receiving dreams, or having experiences / encounters with Jesus, that you aren’t being called of God, or that you will miss His Purpose and plan for your life…!!! 8.Rom 8:29-30 For whom He did foreknow (known before), He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He did predestinate, them He also called: and whom He called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified. 9.NO: God’s first and foremost plan for every one is: For each person to be conformed to the IMAGE of His SON – as they are the ones being called, justified & eventually will be Glorified…!! 4. What is God’s Will and Plan ?? (continue…) 1.‘Cause if you are born again (or rather Born from Above – the Spirit – as per Joh 3:3-6) – then you can be certain – that you are called for a purpose – and your purpose / calling is to be conformed to the IMAGE of Christ – and thus to manifest who Christ is in the earth – show Him to all the people where you live..!! 2.Everything else, is just an added bonus, and if you are faithful in the little, God can always call and use you for greater things later… there is nothing that says He won’t call you for more later…!!! 3.Luk 19:17 And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities. (in afrikaans – woeker met jou talente wat vir jou gegee is… to make a profit from your gifts) 4.And also, looking at 1 Cor 12 – re the Gifts of the Holy Spirit – don’t think - because only 1 gift might flow through you – like in most cases Speaking in Tongues is the first sign - that you can’t grow and develop further in the Spirit’s abilities, and He grant you more gifts later on… in fact that is what He wants us to do… the Kingdom of God is all about GROWTH !!! 5.And it all works through faithfulness – as well as a desire for greater things in the Kingdom… and God will be Faithful to His word – and grant it to you if you ask it of Him… (see Luk 11:1-13) 6.‘Cause God’s will and desire for us – is to reach the full measure of the full stature of Christ Himself – meaning without any limitations – and thus all the gifts to flow through your life so He can use you and work through you in any and every situation… 7.Eph 4:11-14 And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine… 8.Thus – let’s look deeper into what the Prophetic and the Prophetic Ministry is all about then… 9.‘Cause God is using the Prophetic Gifting to reveal His Will, Purpose, and Plan to His Children… HIS CHURCH – see Ephesians & Colossians to get a deeper view of God’s Plan & Purpose for the Church 10.As it is His desire to communicate it all to us through His Word & Spirit, using any form and means He can find to bring a particular message to a particular person for a specific purpose… 11.And therefore, He will use mainly His Word and Dreams and/or Visions to speak to us – but He can use nature as well.. Never ever Limit God to speak to you… He will make use of whatever is available and what you will be able to understand… ‘Cause God is a speaking God… Jesus is called the WORD after all…!!! Origin of the Prophetic 1.By Definition Prophecy is pro – “beforehand” or “time” – and phemi (or phani)- “saying” – that which is said before it happens… 2.THUS: It is Foretelling, forth-telling, teaching, writings, or verbal utterances under the inspiration of the Spirit of God ( See also 2 Pet 1:21 ) 3.Note: Prophecy is NOT Fortunetelling !!! 4.What makes it prophecy according to definition is its sphere of formation, which is eternity. Anything God says is prophetic because He spoke it OUTSIDE of our time to be manifested IN OUR TIME. This is why prophecy relies much on dreams and visions, as well as FAITH !! 5.The Prophetic is to Speak something that doesn’t exist as yet INTO becoming a possibility of existence… Which is what God did in Gen 1 – He saw the end from the Beginning – and then started by Saying: Let there BE…and it was…( Isa 46:9-13 ) 6.Everything we see, feel and experience in the physical - can be used or seen as a Prophetic Explanation of what exists in the Spirit – like a Parable ( Hos 12:10 – Prophets act out the parables ) 7.THUS: Jesus spoke to the multitudes in Parables also – to bring across Secret TRUTHS (Hidden Mysteries) – eg. the Kingdom of God ( Mat 13:11-13, 31-34 – mustard seed ) 8.Some of the functions and objectives for prophecy and God’s uses of it:  Destiny, Ministry, Correction, Blessing, Change, Creation, Healing, Power, Instruction, Counsel, Impartation, Empowerment, etc… 9.Amos 3:7-8 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but He revealeth His secret unto His servants the prophets. The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy? 10.Prophetic Ministry IS the Voice of Revelation and Illumination which reveals the mind of Christ to the human race !!! ( 1 Cor 2:16, 1 Cor 12:6-11 ) 11.i.e. In the Old Testament – Most of the Prophetic Words that was spoken, was to point to the coming of the Messiah – nowadays – it is pointing to the Manifestation of Christ in us God’s Plan for you through the Prophetic 5

The 9 Gifts of the Holy Spirit 1.According to 1 Cor 12:4-11 there are 9 Distinct gifts of the Holy Spirit which can be grouped in groups of 3 gifts each: – Revelation Gifts – The Infinite God, Creator of the Universe is revealing His TRUTH to man Word of Wisdom – to have INSIGHT into a situation, or God’s Will and Plan (Prov 3) Word of Knowledge – To KNOW the TRUTH about a situation Discerning of Spirits – To KNOW/Recognize atmosphere, character, intents of the heart…etc. (Acts 5, 1John4:1) – Power Gifts – God Imparting His own Powers and abilities to man Faith (Heb 11:1 & 6, Hab 2:4) – Mustard seed (Luk17:6), Mark 11:22-24 – Faith of God Healings – Mark2:1-12, (by laying on of hands – Mark 16:18), Acts 3:6 – What I Have I give unto you… Working of Miracles – Joh 14:12 – we can do what Jesus did & GREATER !! – Inspiration Gifts – Speaking God’s Word, Will and His Heart Gift of Prophecy (1 Cor 14:3,4,39) – edifies, builds & encourage others Gift of Tongues (1 Cor 14:2,4) – speaking mysteries & edifies yourself Interpretation of Tongues (1 Cor 14:5-11,13) – to proclaim/explain the mysteries to all 2.1Cor 12:4-6: Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which works all in all. 3.Notes: 1.The Prophetic Gift specifically is what God uses, to make known His Plans and Purposes to each of us – or His Church as a Corporate Body... But, He can also use it to warn someone, or just to Encourage someone (see 1Cor 14:3).. 2.The whole Bible is a Prophetic Message, and we need to understand God’s Language, and way of speaking so we can understand the message He wants to convey to us… 3.Sometimes the Prophetic Message will come in little portions at a time (like puzzle pieces)… you hardly ever will receive the full picture from God in one go.. Sometimes He first wants to see if you will obey the first step, then He will give you the next step…and so you move forward in life and in His will and ultimate purpose for your life.. 4.Also see 1Cor14 - Paul goes into more depth about the difference between Prophesying and speaking in tongues.. 5.1Cor13 – The Chapter on Love - is between Chapters 12 & 14 re all the Gifts… 6.Meaning Paul is trying to tell us, without the Love of God working in us and through us – we will be an empty noise if we try to just focus on the gifts… he calls the Love of God, a more excellent way (1Cor12:31) God’s Plan for you through the Prophetic 6

SUMMARY 1.God’s Plan isn’t just for certain people to be called, and the rest of us are being over looked… 2.No, God loves each and every one of His Children dearly, and Jesus gave His LIFE for us all, so that none of us should perish (in other words: fade away, and feel useless or not good enough for His Kingdom…etc..) but, that we should all have an abundant LIFE – Eternally… (John 10:10 & John 3:16) 3.And the same with the Gifts – all the Gifts are for every one to tap into through faith… 4.But now you may ask – how do I hear from God, and receive a Prophetic word – and then when I have received it – how do I bring it into fulfillment.. ?? 5.Do I just sit and wait for God’s Will, Plan or Prophetic Word for my life to work itself out, or do I myself have to bring it into fulfillment, or what do I do..?!?! 6.Well, we say – it is all about Maturity & Discernment… 7.‘Cause first of all the prophetic word is like a light in the darkness – it gives you hope and something to look forward to, when things aren’t going according to God’s plan and purpose for you… and God wants to give you hope in the midst of every storm He wants to be the light… He wants to talk to you…!!! 8.THUS: pray and continue praying about it all, while you actively start looking and researching in how you can get ready to step into what God has for you, when it becomes known to you / into fulfillment… 9.Eg: Read up on the things that God said in His word, to you in a dream or a Vision or through a Prophet, increase your knowledge about that area, if you need to study, attend classes, and get ready… 10.Practice seeing visions, pray for dreams, and don’t ever get discouraged.. Just ask again, and try again… 11.Write down what you see/hear/dream...even if you don’t understand the meaning of it at first… read up about it – and ask others.. It will grow… 12.Look for a word of Knowledge and/or Wisdom to come for a particular person or situation… dig deeper, ask and keep on asking…etc… (Mat 7:7-8) 13.Be a Doer of the Word… Practice healing people if you want to bring healing, or if you want to speak in tongues fluently, speak what you have received already till you are tired, look for ways to grow in it, and ask for the interpretation of the tongue.. Also try and speak in diverse tongues.. Don’t be afraid if it comes out funny – just keep going.. God will see your willingness to learn and grow, and will come and meet you in a moment you never even expected it could happen, and touch your mouth, and things will be different from that day onwards… 14.‘Cause it is the Spiritual + the Physical – that leads to the Manifestation of the Word !! 15.i.e.: If you can See the Invisible – you can DO the Impossible – Oral Roberts !!! ***** A M E N ***** God’s Plan for you through the Prophetic 8
