71 –> 13 –> 5 (1) constitutionally-based learning styles and preferences [Gegorc’s Mind Styles Model; Dunns’; Torrance’s Style of Learning and Thinking] (2) learning styles that reflect features of the cognitive structure [Witkin, Riding’s Cognitive Style Analysis; Kagan’s Conceptual Style Test], (3) learning style as relatively stable personality type [Myers- Briggs Type Indicator; Jackson’s Learning Styles Profiler], (4) ‘flexibly stable’ learning preferences [Kolb’s Learning Style Inventory; Honey, Mumford; Allinson & Hayes], (5) learning approaches and strategies [Entwistle; Vermunt].

‘cognitive style’ an approach, which characterizes a person (is preferred by him, habitual for him) in the process of (1) collection, (2) processing information, and (3) making decisions (perceptual and intellectual activities). [Witkin, Moore, Goodenough, & Cox (1977, 10) + Rayner and Riding (1997)]

Allinson and Hayes’s Cognitive Style Index (CSI) a 38-item self-report questionnaire with three response options to every statement: ‘true’, ‘uncertain’ and ‘false’. With every statement, the respondent can score 2, 1 or 0. The maximum score is 76, the minimum 0. The higher the score, the more ‘analytical’ the respondent is, and the lower the score, the more ‘intuitive’ the respondent. (Allinson & Hayes, 2012) Analytical>quasi analytical>adaptive>quasi intuitive>intuitive
