Blended learning is face-to-face learning experiences and online learning platforms, with content and tools for personalized instruction. Tools support a flexible pacing, differentiated instruction, feedback and interventions, with learning anytime and anywhere.

Differentiated Small Guided Reading Groups With Teacher Student will receive differentiated instruction in reading according to his/her lexile level. Lessons will be based on student needs in reading comprehension, phonics, or grammar skills. This will also be the time for student to meet with the teacher to make sure he is making progress with personalized learning plan.

Computer Tablets Student to use a free reading program through http://mobymax.com/ that is geared toward his/her reading level using informational text and tracking progress. http://mobymax.com/ Student will also be learning to type using http://learn2type.com to master second grade standards of knowing how to use a computer. For animal report, he/she will be able to access information through the district provided websites such as http://go-elem.grolier.com/ to locate the digital resource Go! Scholastic Amazing Animals of the World.http://learn2type.comhttp://go-elem.grolier.com/

Independent Stations Library Station Student to read various genres, and books about rain forest animals. Writing Station Student will have daily journal writing and an opportunity to write a report about a rain forest animal of his/her choice. Art/Project Station Student will collaborate with other pupils while working on interactive projects such as animal presentation boards and/or dioramas of the rain forest.
