Employers Employers could check your Facebook. There may be things on there that you might not want them to see, or things that they may see that would put them off employing you. Things that show up on your Facebook page could determine whether you get a job or not.

Economics People are now buying and selling things online more. It is cheaper to set up an EBay account and sell things online then it is to set up a shop in the town. People find it easier to shop online as you can relax while you shop from home.

Threats Computers are prone to threats because of the internet. Your computer could become infected with a virus. Your passwords for various accounts could be stolen and maybe never retrieved. If you are buying things online while your computer is infected then your details could be stolen and used to buy things buy someone else.

Other Threats Other problems could be that files get corrupt and therefore if you have any things you need to send over and email, the file could become corrupt or/and unreadable.

Music and File Sharing A lot of people now listen to and download music online. Sites like YouTube give record companies and artists a channel where they can post there music videos and gain revenue from advertisements. Other sites, for example Pirate Bay, allow users to illegally download files like music and films without paying.

Mobile Phones People download music to listen to on the go. You can download music and put it on your phone. There is also software and apps designed for mobile phones where you can listen to music without having to download it.

Games Consoles You can watch films, listen to music and even watch TV on a modern games console like the PS3. Software like Netflix allows you to watch and stream films to your console (With a monthly fee) and the BBC iPlayer allows you to watch catch-up TV on your console.

Social Networking Sites like Facebook and Twitter give celebrities a chance to communicate with their fans on a personal level, communication like this could also help improve shows by getting viewer input directly from the views. As Facebook and Twitter are free it is very beneficial. It could also be a bad thing as people may not particularly like something/someone and they may use this as a chance to discriminate something/someone.
