Host a summit of funding agencies to work toward adoption of shared standards for digitization and metadata Explore support for a shared regional digital content system

Support existing local and regional collaborative digitization projects, as well as existing statewide newspaper digitization programs in both Washington and Oregon Develop various written materials (toolkits, outreach materials, etc.) focused on broad community participation and establish a shared email list for distribution of materials and project updates

Encourage institutions in Washington and Oregon to form one or more initial collaborative project(s) focused on eventual participation in the DPLA Support the option of participation in the Orbis Cascade Alliance’s Content Creation & Dissemination (CCD) Program for OCA members

Host a summit of funding agencies to work toward adoption of shared standards for digitization and metadata Schedule a second regional summit in spring or summer 2016 to continue the conversations begun at the 2015 Summit

Identify and broadly promote low or no-cost training opportunities at a variety of levels Invite key participants from institutions with digital collections to form an initial Steering Committee to organize activities listed above

Help plan meeting of funding agencies in collaboration with Oregon Heritage Commission Establish email list for information sharing LSTA competitive grants ◦ Preference to collaborative projects with focus on Oregon heritage materials ◦ DPLA compatible projects

Focus on needs of small institutions ◦ Discuss collaboration opportunities with Washington State Library (possible IMLS funding) ◦ Training and other resource needs
