2. FOBHPS Mission Statement Our mission is to promote and organise events to bring the Academy community together and to raise funds for the benefit of the Academy. We will work together with Boughton Heath Academy to advance the interests of the school and to promote the wellbeing of pupils, parents/guardians and teachers. We will encourage direct communication within the school community, in an atmosphere of goodwill and cooperation. The role of FOBHPS – Making a difference Events Christmas cards - the designs looked fantastic and it’s obvious that we have many budding artists in school. Christmas fair – art corner, cake stalls and Santa’s grotto – we created artwork to take home and hang on the tree or maybe you treated yourself to some decorated nails, painted face or a fake tattoo? Fun was had by all. Coffee and welcome meetings have been organised by FoBHPS especially to welcome new parents and support the school in making everyone feel welcome and informed. Matched funding – thankyou to parents who got their employers to match fund our fundraising efforts, a huge £500 was raised. Thanks goes to HSBC Bank plc. Summer fair – children were more than happy to stay after school when they had the chance to attend a summer fair. After lessons were over for the day, we welcomed parents, friends and children to enjoy fun and games on the field.

3. 3 Chair’s Report by Sarah Watkin I have been on the FOBHPS committee for the past 4 years, and Chair for the past 12 months. Whilst we haven’t had as many committee members as previous years and struggled to fit fundraising activities around our jobs we have still managed to raise a staggering £3,061 with the support of children, parents and teachers. An enormous amount of work goes on behind the scenes in organising events, attending meetings, writing newsletters etc., by the parents on the committee, but also, a great deal of help is given from other parents and teachers at our Christmas and Summer fairs, creating artwork for Christmas cards and many other events throughout the year. Without this help we would not be able to run these events, so thank you not only to those who help out, but of course the parents and children that turn up support us, we could not achieve our goals without you! If you have any particular views on where you would like to see future money spent, then you can discuss the suggestion with any of the committee members. We welcome everyone’s views and want you to have a say on how we spend your money. I’d like to thank all members of the 2014-2015 committee and in particular those members standing down – Donna Rewhorn, Katy Turner and Kate Smith. I’m also extremely grateful that Claire Stanley and Ian Powell are remaining on the committee to ensure continuity and experienced hands are around to support new members. A special mention should also be made to Caroline Dolley who has made a superb job of running the 100 Club in recent years.

4. 4 How we spent the money £4,558 was spent on the installation of new whiteboards in each of the classrooms. In previous years we have invested heavily in new school books, assisted with the refurbishment of the school hall including staging and sound system, purchased laptops, blinds for the hall, security cameras, cinema trips, author days, art days, music workshops, infant panto, coaches for trips, reading and maths schemes, school notice board, basket ball hoop, sports vests to mention just a few!! For the forthcoming year we’ve agreed to support the building of a new structure in the school grounds – look out for it coming soon!! Shopping online – FoBHPS is registered with ‘Easy fundraising’ who work with thousands of famous retailers such as Amazon, ebay, John Lewis, Argos to name but a few. Follow http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk and follow the instructions to register. http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk 100 Club - We need more members if it is to continue. A great way to financially support school and perhaps win a cash prize. £12 a year (or in 2 x £6 instalments). Ask in the school office. This year £460 was raised for school - more members = more profit! Matched Funding – please keep us informed if you are willing to ask your employer to match-fund one of our events.
