Lab: Linear Motion Experimental Procedure:
The objective of this lab is to Plot graphs Distance vs. Time for constant speed and acceleration Use the toy-car provided and measure the time for the different distances (Time 1) in seconds Repeat twice step 2 and measure Time 2 and Time 3 Calculate the Average Time for accuracy using the following formula: Avg. Time = (T1+T2+T3) / 3 Calculate the speed of the toy-car using the following formula: Speed = Length / Avg.Time Use this information to plot a graph distance vs. time Class: ____________ Date: ____ Name: ____________ Period: ___ Linear Motion Lab Materials: ____________ ____________ Ilustration: Hypothesis: _________________________ _______________________________ Table 1 Length [cm] Time 1 [s] Time 2 [s] Time [s] Avg. Linear Motion Lab (Cnt’d)
Lab: Linear Motion Experimental Procedure: Build a ramp as indicated by your teacher. Locate the wheel on the upper side of the ramp. Mark this point as the “origin” Free the wheel and start marking on the ramp the location of the wheel every 2 seconds. Measure with a ruler the distance of each mark from the origin. Fill in the table. Repeat steps 3 & 4 to get two more readings. Calculate the Average distance. for accuracy using the following formula: Avg. Distance = (d1+d2+d3) / 3 Use this information to plot a graph distance vs. time Class: ____________ Date: ____ Name: ____________ Period: ___ Linear Motion Lab (Cnt’d) Acceleration.
