Security Actions for 10 Primary Areas Reduced inventory of scrap copper Reduce number of storage locations 692T, B905, B1107W, 888T on hit list B924 (SMD) needs to be cleaned out Finish installing electronic surveillance Add video cameras and lights at 924 Yard and B918 Cleanup and organize storage locations B926, B974 in good shape B918, B1101 need cleanup and control Need to re-spool cables in 912 Yard

Security Responsibilities See OPM 1.20 and OPM 2.31 Building Managers of buildings containing valuable materials shall walk down their building once per week to determine if any such materials are missing Supervisors report any loss of valuable materials immediately by notifying the Department Chair and BNL Police
5
Benefits of Security Actions No new occurrences of theft Unused copper sold and money returned to operations Reduced space charges in future B905 and B924 pay a full technical working area space charge not warehouse space charge Reduced power use; e.g., walk-in refrigerator freezer in B924 (reduces greenhouse gas emissions) Spare parts for RHIC inventoried and stored properly Reduced potential for spills (e.g., fewer oil filled items in storage)
