1 Jet/EtMiss Data preparation task force Silvia Resconi INFN Milano Introduction

2 1 Dec 2009Silvia Resconi2 First MET experience with real data Avaibility of data: –easy access to ESD/AOD data of beam splash and first collisions –fast replication of data on all Tier1’s and Tier2’s –easy retrieval using Grid Data Managment Tools (DQ2)  FIRST SUCCESS ! First basic plots: –produced on AOD/ESD a bit under pressure to provide material for official ATLAS presentation –no time to organize task force work Start to collect all MET results to share first plots and have quick feedback https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/AtlasProtected/MissingETResults  maintain the wiki in a more organized way to collect relevant material from everybody, please contribute !  see talk by Donatella, Pascal, Bruce

3 1 Dec 2009Silvia Resconi3 How to organize the work for next data ? Jet/MET D3PD centralized production: –Stored on JetEtMiss group-disk –Produced running METPerformance together with a first set of plots –Both for data and for physics events MC (already done for 900 GeV MinBias) and for cosmics MC Possibility to rerun METperformance on D3PD to re-set scales, binning, etc. to produce final plots.  see talk by Jet Event cleaning: –Most of the cleaning quantities used in cosmics studies are available in METPerformance package –METGoodness aims to provide cleaning selection against events with cosmics, fake MET due to mismeasurements of jets/muons, to assess the quality of EtMiss in the event. –Very crucial issue to be tested carefully, can start with real data applying basic criteria against cosmics, including timing criteria.  see talk by Max
