EYFS Tracking statements in the EYFS works in exactly the same way as the Primary software. You can track statements from 0 to 40-60S+. There are also options for just above, consistently above and significantly above 40-60. ELGs are available from Spring (although this is the last year that they will be in use). Observations and evidence…

EYFS One additional function is the use of observations. Unfortunately, this function is not yet available on an iPad. You need to use a tablet that supports Windows e.g. an Ergo or Linx. Foundation subjects We also track all foundation subjects using Target Tracker, but some of the statements are quite broad. For our science steps, we just use the KPIs which are the ‘working scientifically’ statements. RE is slightly tricky as we use the 8 level progression ladder and convert these to steps.
7
Reporting to parents The reporting tool utilises data from within Target Tracker to prepopulate many areas. We used Target Tracker to generate our Summer 2015 reports. Steps parent report Steps parent report School example School example

Target Setting There is also a target setting function within Target Tracker. Targets are for the end of each year. They are automatically generated. Targets for Key Stage 1 are generated based on the entry level assessment in Year 1, Autumn 1. Targets for Key Stage 2 are based on the end of Key Stage 1 assessment, Year 2 Summer 2. If these assessments are not present targets will not be generated but may be created as user targets, with the sufficient user permissions. By default the targets represent an interpretation of Sufficient Progress. If we accept that a pupil attaining the expected outcome for KS1 should go on to reach the expected attainment for KS2 then this equates to 6 steps progress in each academic year. For year 1, where the target is based on the Autumn 1 assessment rather than the end of the previous year, this is 5 steps progress. It is possible for a user with an Admin user type to alter the yearly expectations for all pupils in File - Options - Targets if required.
11
Target Setting 2 It is also possible to set a user target rather than use the generated one. This will be necessary for pupils with SEN or highly able pupils for example. To set a user target right click in the cell representing the pupil row and step column required. There should be an option for Target at... If this is not there it is likely your user type is not permitted to set user targets. Speak to your Target Tracker administrator in school to promote your permission level. User targets appear in boxes so they may be easily identified.
13
Target Setting 3 When setting user targets it may be useful to add a comment to explain the reasoning. To do so set the target as normal, then right click on the new target. An option to Edit End of Year Target Comment should appear. Choose this option to add a brief comment. Any user targets with comments appear with a small notepad icon. Choose the Edit option again to view the comment. By default only the targets for the end of the current year are shown. It is possible to show all years targets via the Targets button. It is also possible to hide User targets. This may be useful if you want to see where the generated targets would appear.
