4 Status of Deliverables D6.1 and 6.3 revised in line with review recommendations and re-submitted to the Commission in June 2014. D6.2 completed and submitted to Secretariat on timetable agreed by GA in Stockholm, January 2014. This was submitted to the Commission in June 2014. D6.4 completed and submitted to secretariat in September 2014. Submitted to the Commission in Oct 2014.

5 D6.4 Annual Monitoring Report Findings 14 completed questionnaires received out of a possible 15 JPI MYBL members are happy with the completed JPI activities for e.g. the SRA and the two fast track activities Areas where JPI members are undecided or unhappy include; Implementation of the SRA The first joint call The governance of the JPI MYBL This is due in part to early nature of the work as currently there are groups in operation to develop each of these areas

6 D6.4 Annual Monitoring report major Findings Short-term potential impacts of JPI MYBL Developing relationships between EU (and Canadian) funders Common research calls and networks Increasing awareness of the JPI MYBL and building collaborations with stakeholders Long-term potential impacts of JPI MYBL Alignment of research priorities Raising awareness of demographic change Increase in capacity

7 D6.4 Annual Monitoring report major Findings Indicators met by month 24 A1 - Attitude of JPI members towards JPI MYBL goals and objectives A2 - Support for the JPI by its members A3 – Participation of member states in JPI MYBL in SRA implementation planning activities and/or sub-groups A4 - Number of JPI members contributing funds to ‘fast-track’ activities A5 - The number of new joint activities The remaining Type A indicators have been partially met at this time. It is too early to assess the Type B indicators.

8 Status of Deliverables The external evaluation will evaluate the following aspects of the initiative: The extent to which the JPIs aims and objectives up until December 2014 have been achieved. The “fast track projects ‟ process and their contribution to the aims and objectives of the JPI The quality and success of engagement activities. Whether and how the initiative has contributed to, or influenced the development of the funding programmes of the Member states. The governance structure of the JPI, including an assessment of the role of: the General Assembly (GA); the Strategic Advisory Board (SAB), the Societal Advisory Board (SOAB); and the J-AGE group.

9 Status of Deliverables The external evaluator will Design the questionnaire/s for interviews with those involved with the JPI MYBL. Select and interview up to 10 members of the GA, SAB and SOAB. Select and interview up to 10 members of Fast Track activities and Task Force members. Select and Interview up to 10 stakeholder contacts from the list provided. Produce a final report including transcripts of the interviews

10 Deviations from work plan Request to J-AGE partners to remove D6.5 – first external evaluation. Request circulated by email at as agenda item at May 2014 JPI CSA meeting. The request was sent by secretariat to commission. The period covered by D6.5 will be covered by the External Evaluation of the JPI D6.6 Request to sub contract out the external evaluation of the JPI MYBL as advised by expert group discussed with secretariat and request accepted by the commission.

11 Future timetable and workplan External evaluation (D6.6) September to December 2014 WP6 preparing the paperwork required for the external evaluation including external evaluation plan, external tender documentation, contact lists, appointing and briefing of external evaluator. December 2014 to February 2015 External evaluation of the JPI MYBL including questionnaires to JPI MYBL members and stakeholders. Preparation, completion and sign off of Evaluation report. Deliverable D6.6 to be submitted to the Secretariat in Feb 2015
