Other strategies to help with revision: Past paper answers write down 3 sentences you’d use in an intro. Then bullet point the body of your essay. Swap with a friend and write each other’s essays. At the end, swap back and highlight your ideas in one colour and additional in a second. Cue cards/ fan and pick Include important information for focus topic- ask someone to test you. Summarise Put everything you need to know about a text onto one A3 piece of paper. Re-write it reducing the words to A4, then A5. Brain dumping Revise part of a text and set alarm at a random time of the day 2 days later. When the alarm goes off you have 10 minutes to write down everything you can remember… Mind maps Colour coding theme/ technique is useful for this. Pair 15 minute challenge Devise 15 questions on a topic- starting easy and getting harder. Swap with someone and you then have 15 minutes (without a copy of the text) to answer them. Pyramids Convert the text into a pyramid. The top is the key idea, middle the main points, the bottom is the detail of the main points.
