Edison K8 School Mission The Edison K8 School is committed to providing its students with a rigorous academic experience in a safe, nurturing atmosphere that creates a sense of belonging for students, families and staff. The Edison K8 is committed to harnessing the power of the arts as a way to drive student achievement.

5. 2013-2014 Student Learning Goal In order to address the achievement gaps that exist between general education students and students who have special needs (26.9 CPI points in ELA/ 32.3 CPI points in math) and/or who are English language learners (16.4 ELA/ 12.1 Math) teachers will focus on student mastery of academic language embedded in the Common Core standards so that students scoring in the lowest 1/3 of each class on the first predictive will make 5 points of progress by the second predictive assessment and an addition 5 by MCAS for a total increase of 10 CPI points.

12. 2013-2014 School Climate Goal We will increase the “sense of belonging” experienced by students, staff and family members at the Edison K8 as measured by the annual School Climate Survey by focusing our efforts on Connecting/ Challenging/ and Supporting members of our community.
