2 Volunteering in Finland - Volunteering is characterised by a strong membership culture  takes place in associations - More than 100 000 registered associations (70 000 active) - 2/3 of volunteers are located in associations - 50% of Finns actively participate to volunteering (Survey 2006, European Social Reality) - Most popular sectors: 1. Sport (30%) 2. Social and health (25%) 3. Children and young people (22%) 4. Religious activities (16%) 5. Community activities (10%)
