2. What is a goal everybody in this class could share?

3. Take Control of YOUR Life Plan = scheme for doing something or a series of steps for accomplishing a goal. Write down your plan….it helps! Follow this process….it works: 1. State your goal. 2. Include deadlines and a time line in your plan. 3. Identify and make an inventory of your resources. 4. List individually each step you need to take. 5. Carry out the steps in your plan. 6. Evaluate the success of your plan.

4. Involving Others in Your Plan You may need to seek the help of someone for some of your plans! EX: Plan to lose weight = exercise instructor Your plan may involve others on it’s own…..family members and friends. Always consider those that might be affected by your plan(s).

5. Flexibility & Contingency Plans Be prepared for the unexpected! Be ready to adapt and move on! Have a back-up plan a.k.a. contingency plan.

6. Managing Your Life Managing your life will require organization and control! A good plan requires 3 parts: – Organizing – Implementing – Evaluating

7. Skills for Success Sometimes your plans may involve other people….good communications skills will go a long way! Here are some tips: Be enthusiastic about the project/plan! Use input from others! Work as a team member, not a BOSS! Let others make decisions too! Be tactful and kind if someone makes a mistake. Let someone know when you think they’ve done a good job. Don’t take sides in a conflict. Don’t be afraid to make a decision if necessary! Assume that other people will do a good job to avoid a negative attitude!
